Pioneering Compassionate Cancer Care Since 2001
IRCS Cancer Hospital was started in 2001 as Cancer Detection Centre by Nellore Red Cross Team headed by Dr.A.V.Subramanyam garu ment for the Poor. The land was allotted by the Govt and it was inaugurated by Dr.C.Ranga Rajan garu (Governor-AP). The first major donation was from J.S.Reddy Charities which supported to some extent for the hospital maintenance upto 1 ½ year.
Later Dr.Aruna Chandra Sekharan reputed Surgical Oncologist from Adayar Cancer Hospital started Surgical Dept., The Operation Theatre, Surgical wards, Pathology lab, and the necessary equipments like X-Ray machine, Ultra Sonography machine, etc., were procured from the donations received from the Philanthropists.
One of the major donor Dodla Vardha Reddy & Rukminamma Charitable Trust donated for the Radiation Dept. building construction.The indigenous Cobalt machine and Simulator, etc., were installed with the help of Govt. and Radio therapy was also started from 2006 after the inauguration by Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam garu then the President of India.
